Samson and Delilah, David and Goliath, Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, the Rivers of Babylon…. Where do they fit into our tradition? They too are in our Bible, in the second part of what we call the TaNaCh (תנ״ך). This year we will read through the highlights of the books of Joshua, Judges, Samuel I & II, and Kings I & II, covering the history of the people in their land, from the conquest through the destruction of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon in 587 BCE — covering all the juicy stories that we miss in our annual cycle of Torah reading.
