Beginning a full month before Rosh Hashanah, the shofar calls us to wake up to the truth of our lives and take honest stock of where we’ve been and where we’re going—a process called cheshbon hanefesh, or “spiritual accounting.” Rosh Hashanah, and Yom Kippur that follows, offer us sacred space for deep contemplation and the possibility of transformation.
In this five-session series (meeting each Shabbat when we hold morning services), we will follow the contours of the season, blending the wisdom of our tradition with personal reflection to help make these High Holidays a truly transformative experience.
